Significant Improvements Seen in 2014 EEI Results

The 2014 Energy Efficiency Indicator (EEI) survey of facility and energy management executives showed nearly across-the-board improvements in key measures that signal increased interest and investment in energy efficiency in North America’s non-residential buildings.

While many of these indicators have improved steadily across past years’ EEI surveys, the magnitude of the improvement from 2013 to 2014 is noteworthy. Numerous indicators showed strong double-digit percentage point gains.

News Release: 2013 EEI: Global Momentum for Energy Efficiency

New research released today by Johnson Controls, the global leader in delivering solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings, shows energy efficiency interest rose 116 percent globally since 2010, with those who set goals making the greatest strides in reducing energy use. Momentum is also growing for green building certification and green tenant space leasing, although 22 percent cite a lack of funding as the top barrier to investment.
